Mats

The Small Supasoft Studio Aerobic Matt (12mm) £15.99 available from The Physical Company is the equivalent of what I’ve used in the Parish hall. If you want a bit more comfort go for something a thicker. The Physical Company’s thicker mats are a bit pricey, but there are plenty available elsewhere – go for a non-slip mat that’s 15mm thick – it should be aorund £20.00.

Headpads

You’ll need to buy the foam block and covering separately (or make your own). I use 1” and 3” pilates head pads from £2.34 and £4.74 respectively, again from The Physical Company. The covers are £4.38 and £4.74.

You’re using them to align your neck with your spine or provide padding as required – so you might not need anything in some positions, or a rolled up towel and/or cushion will do just as well.

Bands

As a general rule the lighter the band the less support or resistance they will provide; the darker the more support or resistance. I use pink bands in the class because they offer medium support and resistance. You can get these from the Physical Company too.

I use Supaflex 1.5 m X-band you can buy them singly from £2.78 or get a pack of 4 different strengths for £14.58. They do have latex in them though, you can buy single bands latex free for £!4.52.

Franklin Balls

You’ll need a pair of Franklin Spiked Reflex Balls for the Autumn Term – I get mine from sittingwell.co.uk. It’s important that they’re adjustable so you’ll need a needle pump (also available from sittingwell) if you haven’t got one already.
